Louder than a Bomb
This writing can be abstract and creative. Or concrete and sound. This poem can be about whatever you want. Maybe you can think of a theme from throughout your life, some core truth that you’ve discovered, or some hard-won wisdom that you have to share. Explain your thought or message through lines of poetry. Here’s my example:
When one rhyme starts
Another one falls
Repeating the start
One follows along
Where is the beginning
When the middle gets blurred
Now that I’m here I can’t see there
There was so clear but now I’m not sure
Waiting for the end I thought there’d be more
How much time do I need to spend here waiting
Every second passes like a clock in shady maple avenue
Ready for fall
It’s finally here we’ve awaited this call
To tell us the way
It can’t be uncovered
Until it is time
The decision is given
What I once knew
Is now a depiction
Of what I once saw
A prophets vision
Clear to read
Unclear to live out
When I’m tired and broken
Hope can get through
Now that I’m not focused on the blurry days now
I remember the future is calling to me
A hope so secure I don’t need to struggle now
But the struggle now is how the future is sure
Every day I wait, enjoying the now
Now enjoyment waits
Ready to bow
And welcome me home
a welcome so sweet
what I’ve always been waiting for
but I will forget once more
until I finally hear that sound
no noise will be around
new direction inspires my heart
and everyday struggle to find a restart
the hope breaks through and burdens fade away
ever since that day where I remembered to fly
